It's nearly the end of the school holidays and for some parents it can be pretty daunting making sure your kids are settled and prepared to go back to school. Here are just a few simple tips for parents that they may find useful:
1) Do not leave it to the last minute to buy uniform and stationary for your children. It's best to do all this in advance so you can enjoy the rest of the school holiday together having fun rather than darting around all the shops like a headless chicken. It will be less stressful for you when you're organised.
2) If your children are starting a new school, it would be a good idea for you to take them there before school term begins so your children will be more at ease and they'll soon get used to making this new journey.
3) When it's getting near to term time, start the school bedtime routine with them so that it'll be quicker and much easier for them make the transition to settle down when school starts.
4) Always praise your kids, tell them that you are very proud of them.
All kids want to hear that they are loved from their parents it gives them security especially during a time where they're afraid of starting a new school and new surroundings.5) If you notice that your children is feeling especially anxious or worried about going back to school, spend time with them to allow them to share what's troubling them. All they need is some reassurance that everything will be okay and there's nothing to worry about because you will be there for them.
